Short description about Abraham Lincoln.

Lincoln, Abraham (12 February 1809–15 April 1865), sixteenth president of the United States

The Abraham Lincoln familiar to contemporary Americans is literally larger than life.but the face we know from the Lincoln Memorial and Mount Rushmore is the visage of the iconic Lincoln, not the mug of the dark-horse frontier lawyer who surprising became president.

The Lincoln that most Americans knew in 1860,when six out of ten people voted for someone else, was an unattractive, somewhat vulgar bumpkin who seemed overmatched by the crisis at hand.Remembered now for the beauty and insight of his speeches,Lincoln has benefited from the lack of recording technology. Although one is tempted to infer a cultivated speaking voice to match the sophistication of the words,Lincoln actually spoke in a high-pitched voice with a strong frontier accent.
